Addy has 4H leukodystrophy. Upon hearing those words, our world as we knew it, came crashing down. We had so many questions, there were so many unknowns, and in the forefront, we asked—what is Leukodystrophy and what does this mean for our girl?

Leukodystrophy is a group of conditions that affect the white matter of the brain. These diseases damage the myelin sheath, which surrounds and protects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and speeds transmission of messages between cells.

Addy’s Oasis started out as grass-roots project that built our daughter Addy an ‘Oasis’ of sorts in our backyard in CO. We are striving to make Addy’s life as enjoyable as possible. We have expanded her Oasis to WI and strive to make Addy’s life as enjoyable as possible. See our progress.
